Three Rules About Style that all Men Should Know
Your sense of style says a lot about who you are as well as about what you look for or expect in life. When you want to make changes in your life, you can start now by changing the way you look. You can make these changes by actively choosing what you will wear when you walk out your door…regardless of where you are going. These choices can make you feel confident, refreshed and new.
There are myriad reasons for guys not to care about how our clothes fit. We want to always be comfortable, we don’t want to look to feminine or have our clothes too tight. Some of us have honestly never even thought about it much. In fact, whatever body type you have is what you need to dress for.
How do you do that?
Start by going through your closet and getting rid of everything that reminds you of a grandfather. Consider how your suit looks. Your suit is tailored to your lines and curves. It needs to be just the same with your polo shirts, sweaters, khakis and jeans. All of your clothes need to fit the body that you have now…not the one you had 10 years ago.
Make sure that you are wearing colors that will complement your skin tone and hair color. Some things will look great on you while others will wash you out. Make sure that you pay attention to those details as well as to things like shoes, ties and belts. People will notice those tiny little finishing touches. Consider that a man who is wearing a pair of good fitting jeans and a t-shirt combined with good loafers and a nice belt will always look better than one who is dressed in a pair of old oxfords with an expensive suit. You have to look good from head to toe.
Speaking of Head to Toe
Face it, if you have hair that is thinning, comb overs are not the way to go. Either embrace it and shave the rest off, or fight it with today’s medical technology. Remember that excellent grooming also encompasses your extremities and face. Shave and make sure that your lines are clean. Don’t go around looking like a mountain man or hobo. Don’t forget your feet and hands too. The truly stylish man knows that a good mani-pedi is not just for women. People will notice when your feet and hands look groomed and clean.
