thanks, Oprah

My friend Maggie is a big Oprah Winfrey fan. Bigger than big — huge! enormous! gigantic! And some other superlatives that I can’t think of just now. Last week, she and Laura and some other girls went to the taping of the penultimate “Oprah” show, the one that aired yesterday (which I did not get to see because we were in the middle of a tornado Armageddon — damn you, Oklahoma weather). Maggie came away from the taping with an idea for a project (if you know Maggie at all, this will not surprise you in the least):

I was weepy through most of the show, thinking about everything I’ve learned from Oprah and her team, and I know a lot of you feel the same way. The last show is Wednesday, and I’d like to celebrate by posting about what we’ve all learned over the years. If you’d like to play along, take a photo (like the ones below) of yourself holding a little sign with something you’ve learned from the Oprah Winfrey Show. And then:

I’ve learned two important things from Oprah; both are things that quite honestly changed my life. So thank you, Oprah.
