pretty things: Burberry Brit Eau de Parfum

Remember when I decided that I needed a new signature fragrance? I’ve been wearing Clinique Happy since it was introduced in 1997, and while I still love it, it’s time for a change. I wanted something a little more sophisticated and substantial, but not old or fussy. And after spraying myself with everything you can imagine (which I did not enjoy, let me tell you) I think I’ve found a winner: Burberry Brit Eau de Parfum.

Burberry Brit Eau de Parfum

Sephora categorizes this as an “oriental floral,” and while it’s a substantial scent, it’s not heavy or cloying. It has a floral, citrusy top note, followed by a richer vanilla base note. Honestly, when I tested this scent, I couldn’t stop sniffing myself.

I haven’t actually pulled the trigger and bought a bottle yet — I’m a little nervous about switching scents after all these years — but every time I’m near a Sephora (which Charlie calls “the beauty shop”), I spritz myself with the Burberry Brit and I love it a little more.

What’s your everyday scent? Do you wear more than one fragrance, or are you a loyalist? Or is it plain old soap and water for you?

Hats can be rough on your hair no matter what the length, but when your hat covers your entire ‘do, hat head is a real crisis. Meegs has a couple of options to keep her pixie from going flat on her commute to work (and no, skipping the hat is not one of them, because 14 degrees is cold, people).
