orange crush

I’ve really been wanting an orange dress this spring, which is a little out of character for me. But it’s hard to resist all these shades of tangerine and coral and peach; there’s just something so fabulous about them. This poplin dress from eShakti is exactly what I’ve been dreaming of.

eShakti

eShakti’s dresses are a perfect balance of classic, modest shapes and quirky, offbeat details. These are stand-out pieces that you really could wear over and over. I love the detailing on this dress — the gathered bodice and the pleated waistband and the pockets. Dresses with pockets make me swoon. I also love that it’s a machine-washable cotton poplin, which means that it’s a dress I can really wear and wear and wear. And of course, the color is amazing. That bright coral made me so happy, all day long. Perfect.

eShakti

eShakti also lets you customize your dress, so you get the perfect piece every time. You can add a sleeve, alter the neckline, or change the hem length, for an extra $7 — which is so much less than a tailor would charge to do the same work. Brilliant. I did a little customizing of my own on this dress; the hemline was longer than I liked, so I took it up about three inches, with some iron-on hem tape. Go me.

eShakti

For a limited time, eShakti is offering $20 off your first order, which is a fantastic deal. My dress retails for $59.95, which is already a steal — subtract $20 and it’s practically free. I have my eye on a cute sundress embroidered with bicycles — how fun would that be for summer? So fun.

  1. Orange is my favourite and all those dresses are super cute. Now which one would you wear to a wedding in Mexico in May?

  2. Mine will be ordered before the sun goes down. Thank you so much for sharing this find. You are the best!

  3. Pockets?! No way!! That alone made my whole day.

I have a dress with a very similar cut that I got last year in a pinky-coral color. I wore it to a summer wedding and felt wonderfully festive.

  4. I have my dress in the shopping cart at eShakti. How do we apply the $20 discount mentioned here? Is there a coupon code of some kind? Do we mention we saw their dress here?

    • Kelly, take a look at the front page of the site — this isn’t specifically a Working Closet discount, it’s one that eShakti is offering new customers. I believe you have to register with the site and that gives you access to the discount code.

      And yay for new dress!!!

  5. That is the cutest dress, and the greatest website – I like all the dresses! Thanks for the tip. I ordered one (or two..)

  6. Thanks for the tip–I showed the site to my daughter, and we’ll be ordering the very one you have for her 8th grade graduation. She loved the dresses, and I did too–modest and appropriate for 8th graders AND their moms. :)

  7. I just re-read my comment and thought I should clarify: we’re ordering that dress for HER, not one for each of us. That would be … a bit much.

  8. Just wondering if anyone else has had any issues with this company? I purchased 2 dresses on May 4th and have not seen them and have no responses to my emails from the company? Is this typical? they charged my credit card?

    Help?
