My friend Maggie is a big Oprah Winfrey fan. Bigger than big — huge! enormous! gigantic! And some other superlatives that I can’t think of just now. Last week, she and Laura and some other girls went to the taping of the penultimate “Oprah” show, the one that aired yesterday (which I did not get to see because we were in the middle of a tornado Armageddon — damn you, Oklahoma weather). Maggie came away from the taping with an idea for a project (if you know Maggie at all, this will not surprise you in the least):
I was weepy through most of the show, thinking about everything I’ve learned from Oprah and her team, and I know a lot of you feel the same way. The last show is Wednesday, and I’d like to celebrate by posting about what we’ve all learned over the years. If you’d like to play along, take a photo (like the ones below) of yourself holding a little sign with something you’ve learned from the Oprah Winfrey Show. And then:
- Post your photo to the Thanks, Oprah! Flickr Group.
– Tweet your photo with the hashtag #thanksoprah.
I’ve learned two important things from Oprah; both are things that quite honestly changed my life. So thank you, Oprah.
What have you learned from Oprah? Share your photos in the Thanks, Oprah! Flickr pool.

Aw. Thanks, Susan. The Thank You prayer is one I’d forgotten.
I was going to say the wrong bra size too!
85% of women! I looked it up. (Also, I am TOTALLY wearing the right size bra in that photo. Go me.)
I do love Opah (that’s our sweet nickname for the gal) and she irritates me at the same time. Irritation aside, I have learned some valuable lessons from my fellow Chicagoan.
1. Gavin DeBecker wrote a book called The Gift of Fear and I read it in one day. I listen to my gut instinct and am trying to teach my children the same. It’s for our own safety!
2. My chestal region has never looked better since getting properly fitted for a bra.
3. Dr. Oz–’nuff said.
